Local owners Gregg and Ali Mazza feel privileged to be able to provide patient-focused home care throughout the Hillsborough County area. Their team is dedicated to delivering a prestigious level of service and caring for their clients as if they were part of their own family.

Gregg and Ali decided to make caregiving their personal mission after watching their own family struggle to care for a loved one. Gregg’s grandparents were happy and in love for over 60 years! When Gregg’s grandmother was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor, his mom dedicated herself as the primary caregiver. Grandma Grace’s care became a 24/7 job for his mom after Grandpa Frank lost his battle with leukemia. When Grandpa Frank passed, Grandma’s life was turned upside down. She was depressed and suffering from dementia. To make matters worse, Grandma refused to move in with her kids or go to assisted living. Gregg’s mom experienced tremendous stress from this caregiving experience, which lasted for over two years until Grandma moved into the Hospice palliative care program.

Fortunately, Gregg’s parents were retired and they were able to provide her with the loving attention she needed. Not all families are as fortunate! Gregg and Ali were so deeply inspired by this family caregiving experience that they named their parent company “The Grace Project” in loving memory of Grandma Grace.

We developed a unique and customizable wellness program that concentrates on more than just providing loving and compassionate caregivers, but also on proactively improving quality of life for our clients while managing disease-state progression. We do this by assessing five key areas of wellness — Safety, Nutrition, Physical Activity, Mental Activity, and Socialization. Then, with the help of our nurse supervisor, we take a holistic approach to customizing a care plan based on clinical history, patient needs, and family preferences to proactively meet each individual client’s needs. Our intention is to help stabilize or improve health for our client through focused attention while working to minimize or eliminate further decline. We feel so blessed that BrightStar has provided us the opportunity to live our personal mission of improving quality of life through education, motivation, and inspiration while offering peace of mind.”
