COMPANIONS FOR ACTIVE SENIORS
Part Time and Full Time
BrightStar of Stamford/Greenwich has exciting opportunities for companion/homemaker caregivers for our clients in Stamford, Greenwich, New Canaan and Darien, CT. You will provide companionship, activity supervision, meal preparation, light housekeeping and transportation to our active senior clients. If you enjoy helping others, have wide and varied interests and are comfortable with people of all ages, then being a companion with BrightStar of Stamford is for you!
As a companion/caregiver for BrightStar, your duties will include:
Maintaining a cheerful, positive environment for the client
Light housekeeping
Meal preparation
Providing transportation for outings, appointments, errands
Participating in client activities, such as reading, walking, crafts and household projects
Engaging in conversation
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE:
Strong English reading, oral and writing skills
Service orientation
Excellent interpersonal skills
A kind, friendly and compassionate attitude
Understanding of the needs and interests of seniors
Initiative, reliability and punctuality
Appearance and communication style that presents well to clients and peers
A calm demeanor and ability to solve problems and reassure clients in an emergency
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Physical within the past 12 months
PPD or chest x-ray within the past 12 months
Valid driver's license, reliable transporation, clean driving record and auto insurance
CPR and first aid a plus
