Job Description – Director of Nursing (DON)

This is a part-time position, paid on an hourly basis.
• Guaranteed 20 hours/week, with the potential to increase
as the business grows.
• Occasional evening or weekend hours required for home and
family visits.
• There are opportunities for additional hours, working
on-call and event related shifts if desired.
New BrightStar
location in Elmwood Park is seeking an energetic and compassionate Director of
Nursing.
Candidate will
possess excellent leadership skills, a passion for quality patient care, and
the drive and spirit to help open our new office. This new location will serve
NW Chicago, Norridge, Harwood Heights, Elmwood Park, River Grove, Franklin
Park, Melrose Park, Northlake and Stone Park.
The Director
of Nursing is a member of the leadership team, and will be a critical liaison
between patients, family members and caregivers.
As Director
of Nursing, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Initiating and directing all clinical activities of the office
·
Providing medical assessments for new and existing clients
·
Visiting and developing an individualized plan of care for each
client.
·
Clinical supervision of the field staff providing care
·
Development of policies and procedures focused on the highest
quality of care
Other key
responsibilities include:
·
Train staff for any specialized patient needs and conduct on-site
orientation, where required
·
Monitor customer and client satisfaction and compliance with plan
of care by caregiver
·
Willing and available to provide telephone support 24/7 for
emergency clinical issues
·
Serve as liaison with Illinois Department of Health and other
state agencies with respect to all licensing, compliance and regulatory
requirements of the business
·
Liaise with BrightStar Corporate Office regarding all patient
care policies, procedures and guidelines
·
Regularly assess and report on caregiver competency level
·
Develop and deliver training necessary to build required skills
and competencies of nursing staff
·
Conduct supervisory visits on a regular basis to ensure caregiver
compliance with quality and patient care guidelines
Qualifications:
Minimum five
years clinical experience, 1 year of home health experience preferred
Experience
with supervising or mentoring both exempt and non-exempt personnel
Current RN
license in the state of Illinois
Willing to be
on-call to address clinical questions as needed
Strong
