George Sanchez | Owner
George and his wife Kimberly acquired BrightStar Care in Austin in 2013. They chose BrightStar out of a deep love for caregiving within their own family. Kimberly’s mom had a spinal cord injury at age 13 and has lived mostly independently for the last 50 years. With advancing age and increasing disabilities, she has needed more hands-on care. Kimberly’s grandfather, who lived to 100 years of age, required 24/7 care for the last few years of his long life. The Sanchez’s understand the inestimable value of quality and trustworthy caregivers. George has over 20 years experience growing and running companies.
Sandy Sencenbaugh | Director of Nursing
Sandy’s very first job in nursing was on a Medical/Surgical – Oncology floor in San Diego, California. Around 6 years ago she moved to the Austin area and found a floor very similar to my first floor, the exception to this being that they tied in orthopedics. Sandy was again the charge nurse as well as preceptor. In her free time she has been an Associate Professor at Austin Community College working with Level 1 students in the hybrid program for the last 4 years.
Aimee Gilbreath | Director of Client Services
Mrs. Gilbreath started out as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a skilled nursing facility caring for up to 30 patients at a time with the help of a partner. She was promoted to Staffing Coordinator after just 2 short years; her duties included managing the schedules, serving on the Quality Assurance Committee, and managing as the direct supervisor for all Certified Nurse Aids, LVN’s, and Medication Aides. In 2011, she moved to Austin from a Dallas suburb with her husband and four daughters. After working as a Home Health CNA for about one year, she took a position as the Staffing Coordinator. She worked in that role for a brief time before being promoted to the Administrator of the home health company where she headed all business operations for a few years. In July of 2013, she joined the BrightStar team as the Client Care Manager.
Donna LeValley | RN Assistant DON
Donna started her medical career as a Nurse Assistant in 1996, working with the elderly population and children with special needs. After crossing over into managed care, as a Quality Assurance Manager, she decided to go back to school to fulfil her dream of becoming a nurse. After graduating in 2011, she began working as a Cardiac Med-Surg nurse, a Nurse Preceptor and Charge Nurse for a 37 bed unit. She came to BrightStar in May 2014 as a field nurse. In November 2014 she accepted the role of Assistant Director of Nursing.
