Partners
Whether it’s family and senior resources, a community health program or another local business, our partnerships are an important asset for all those we serve. At BrightStar, we go above and beyond to empower not only those in our care, but also the members of our community. In joining forces with other organizations at the local and national level, we are able to provide those in need with more – more power, more knowledge, more hope – to make sound decisions for themselves and their families.
Lewis Addison, HearTech, LLC
Lewis Addison, audiologist and owner of HearTech, LLC, (www.heartech.net) is a north Georgia native and has lived in Chattanooga since 1984. A University of Georgia graduate,
Mr. Addison’s audiology career began 34 years ago. For 25 years, he served as corporate audiologist for the Tennessee Valley Authority with the responsibility of overseeing the agency’s Hearing Conservation Program. After taking an early retirement, Mr. Addison became aware of how difficult it is for many people to leave their homes for medical appointments. At the same time, he learned about advancements in hearing testing equipment and hearing aid technology that make it feasible to provide audiologic services on
site. Mr. Addison established his private audiology practice, HearTech, LLC, in 2009 with the goal of taking services to the patient. For three years, he has been preforming hearing evaluations and hearing aid fittings in homes, offices, and senior care facilities using laptop-based equipment. In addition to added convenience for the patient, fitting hearing aids in the user’s home or office permits the aids to be “fine tuned” for the actual voices, sounds, and room acoustics of the wearer. Being able to adjust the hearing aid so the TV can be heard at lower volume, for example, has been a relief to many family members! Mr. Addison has been married for 40 years to the former Susan Richardson, also of north Georgia. They have three children living in Chattanooga, Brooklyn, Indiana (and sometimes in Japan).

Why a Personal Emergency Response System?
For seniors who are living alone, injuries or incapacitation can mark the end of an independent lifestyle. In fact, one out of every three people over age 65 will fall this year¹, which can lead to complications. Don’t let a fear of injury take away your freedom. A personal emergency response system puts help within reach, with just the push of a button, so you can live comfortably in your home, receiving 24 hour medical monitoring and home health security without losing your independence.
Senior Home Security Needs are Different
ADT recognizes that seniors are unique and have growing health monitoring and security needs, so we have devoted significant resources to meet those needs with state-of-the-art home health security products and services. Our ADT® Monitoring Professionals are trained to communicate with respect and to recognize the specific needs of seniors, responding quickly through the ADT home medical alert system, and with the proper amount of care.
When the alarm from the personal emergency response system is signaled, an ADT® Monitoring Professional can speak either over the phone or a two-way voice intercom, and can notify additional help when needed. Simply push the button on the waterproof, wireless home security necklace or wristband to communicate with our trained staff.
