Local owner Alan Brown is an experienced businessman, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and holds degrees from Boston University and Babson College. After retiring from a 26 year career with IBM, he spent more than 20 years helping growth-stage entrepreneurs mature in western Connecticut. He has devoted almost 40 years as an active leader in his church, the Lions Club and in mentoring teenagers.

By 2009, it was time for new challenges and he found BrightStar. It fit perfectly with his twin objectives – to build a successful business and to make the world a better place for people who need a helping hand. He found that BrightStar demands the highest level of integrity, excellence and passion for doing healthcare right and that is exactly the set of principles on which BrightStar of Western Connecticut is built.
