After many years of living overseas, local owners Peter and Maureen Moore moved back to Weston in 2004. Shortly after Peter retired in 2007, Maureen’s dad was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the gall bladder.

Dad lived three hours away on Long Island, and when they found that adequate homecare was not available, Maureen took on the task of caring for him.

Maureen accompanied Dad on an extended stay at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, then returned to Long Island with him to provide the skilled care he needed, since Medicare benefits did not fulfill those needs.

This was only possible because Peter was able to stay at home with their teenage daughter. When Maureen needed a break and came home, Peter substituted as Dad’s companion, taking him to the library and to lunch with his golfing buddies, cooking meals, and accompanying him when he was undergoing chemotherapy.

When Dad passed on, it left a great void in their lives. Maureen and Peter were determined to find a way to help people who were facing the same challenges they had faced. After an intensive search, they came across BrightStar, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Maureen and Peter are proud to be the owners of this BrightStar office. They are even more proud that they are able to provide a much-needed service to the community in which they live.

From childcare to elder care, the Fairfield BrightStar team is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Nurse Manager will ensure that each client and family receives the highest level of care and service.

About the Owners

Maureen is a native New Yorker and a graduate of Fairfield University. Peter is a native of London, England, and worked for over 40 years as a banking executive. Their son graduated from Weston High School and is attending college in Boston, and their daughter attends high school in Norwalk.
