Louisville BrightStar owners Chris and Leslie McCutcheon were inspired by their own family background to provide a much-needed service and to give back to the Louisville community. Growing up, Chris’ mom was his grandmother’s main caregiver. “My grandmother had many health problems stemming from diabetes and congestive heart failure that resulted in several hospital stays followed by many stints in a nursing home for rehabilitation” Chris recalls.  “She never liked going into a nursing home and she always desperately wanted to come back to her own home. For years she was not able to live independently and there weren’t resources available at the time to come alongside us and help us care for her safely at home.”

“I realize now how much an agency like BrightStar could have helped,” stated Leslie. BrightStar provides care from simple companionship to round-the-clock specialized nursing care and can assist anyone who needs medical help from newborns to grandparents and anyone in between.  BrightStar can also find a technician for a weekend hospital shift or assist in hiring RN’s for permanent duty. Knowing these specifics about BrightStar is what attracted Chris and Leslie to this business. “We wanted to invest and participate in a company that seeks to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to families in need, just like we were many years ago” Chris explained.
