Our Screening Practices

We know that finding a compassionate, dedicated and qualified health care professional can be a difficult process. At BrightStar, we know the challenges you face and that’s why we’ve implemented a rigorous recruiting and screening process for all of our care providers.

Each and every one of our employees undergo the following screening processes and practices to ensure your loved one receives the highest quality of health care possible.

Each of our employees receive:

  • In-depth interview to determine skills and experience
  • Criminal background check through the State Police according to state guidelines
  • License/certificate verification in accordance with state law and requirements
  • Continual license status monitoring throughout employee tenure
  • Reference checks via phone or mail
  • State health screenings as required by law
  • No-cost Hepatitis B vaccination
  • Blood-borne pathogens training as stated by OSHA guidelines
  • Current CPR certification
  • Drug Screening

Once screened and approved for hire, each BrightStar employee undergoes:

  • In-office orientation prior to placement
  • Employee performance reviews, with client input, at the following intervals
    • One week after placement
    • Once every quarter thereafter
    • At the end of each assignment

BrightStar also encourages all of our employees to undergo continuing education.

Our recruiters seek out only the ‘best of the best’ care providers.  Once we’ve found someone who meets our standards, they undergo our stringent screening, background checks and face-to-face interviews to ensure their qualifications and competencies are in line with our clients’ needs.
