As a child I saw dementia overtake my Grandpa and the difficulty my Grandma had finding reliable homecare services without anyone to help her screen and qualify the caregivers. In middle age, I was living out of state and not available to care for my aging parents. I experienced the difficulty of caring for the elderly from a distance and the need for reliable companion care and elder care services.
