The driving force behind local owner Patricia Preztunik is her relentless desire to “do well and do good.” Patricia leads her team in business and community engagement, always seeking ways to combine great care and a positive work environment to change people’s lives. Patricia was motivated into opening a health care business by very personal challenges in providing care for her mother, a cancer patient who was optimistic in seeking each next path forward. With her husband, she also experienced ups and downs when her father-in-law battled with complications from diabetes – seeking home health care, hospice care, and service excellence.  At the outset, she recruited longtime friend Kathy Onorato to help find great caregivers.  Kathy personally understands the challenges and how overwhelming it can be to care for loved ones in need. Kathy cared for her 92-year-old grandmother while raising two small children.  Kathy brings a strong childcare sensibility to the forefront of BrightStar.

If the soul of BrightStar is a desire to raise the bar in health care, the heart of delivering on that promise is the leadership of a great nurse and nursing team, available 24/7 to families and caregivers alike. A four month search brought Ines Chacon into the fold, with her strong professional background of having worked across New Jersey assisted living and post-acute care centers. Ines brings a wonderful can-do attitude and love for patients. Ines leads her team in the day, and as part of the ‘sandwich generation’ at night– taking care at home of both a young son and a young-at-heart dad.  Ines becomes a part of each patient’s family: as daughter, caregiver and confidant, around the clock.

As the business thrived Suzanne Miller was recruited to head the business office. Suzanne was tasked to continue a very personalized service approach as BrightStar’s client base increased. And finally, with his quiet and steady manner, Peter Lagomarsino joined to drive the sales and referral partner relationships.  And as with Patricia, Kathy and Ines, Suzanne and Pete also know the challenges that come with home health care.  Suzanne took on the responsibilities of cancer care for four family members. Pete has worked with special needs children and continues to volunteer with seniors at a local hospital. Together, they never forget how their workday decisions can affect people’s lives, through great hiring, thoughtful staffing, timely follow up and a kind word!
