BrightStar of Charlotte had the pleasure on Sunday, November 13 to join the Radio 4 the Ages team to talk about Taking the First Steps to getting assistance for seniors.  I joined the Radio 4 the Ages team: David, Matt, and Heather in the studio along with  Marsha McElroy (from the Department of Social Services in Charlotte), Dawn Gartman (from Centralina Area Agency on Aging), and Lynn Ivey (of The Ivey Adult Daycare Center).   Marsha and Dawn talked about services available to senior adults in need of services through government resources, the impact a large aging generation will have on those services, and how important it is to plan for the challenges of aging.  Then Lynn Ivey and I spoke about the differences between adult day-care and homecare, as well as how both of our services compliment each other to lead to a better quality of life for caregivers and senior-adults.  Click here to listen to the two hour Taking the First Step Radio Broadcast.  Join them each Sunday from 9-11 on 1660am WBCN in the Charlotte area.  Feel free to listen to other previously recorded sessions on other senior topics at http://www.radio4theages.com.
