Meet the BrightStar Team

Matt Shriner, CSA, Owner – Matt has worked professionally in healthcare for 17 years starting with patient care positions in hospitals, moving on to marketing and sales positions in disease management and pharmaceutical companies.  Matt established the BrightStar franchise in 2007 in the Lafayette area.  Since that time BrightStar has developed a strong reputation in the community for high quality customer service and patient care. Matt volunteers with the Lafayette Senior Services Commission and several other community-based organizations

Christy Wolf, RN, - Christy has worked with BrightStar for two years , been a Registered Nurse for over 14 years and worked in the healthcare field for the past 23 years. Christy’s prior experience includes working in orthopedics at John Muir Medical Center, a Certified Nurses Assistant at John Muir and a Physical Therapy Assistant.  She enjoys the home health setting  the most because she can focus on one patient at a time, as well as develop a close relationship with them and their family members.  She feels that it is caregiving at it’s best!

Jennifer Williams, MA, CMC, Director of Care Management – Jennifer joined the BrightStar Team in 2009 and has worked in the healthcare field for 16 years. She received her Masters in Gerontology in 2004 from SF State University. Jennifer is the Board President for Lafayette-based Senior Helpline Services and volunteers with several other non-profit organizations. She is passionate about serving and advocating for the seniors in our community.

 

Lesley Mitchell, LVN, Assistant Director of Patient Care Services – Lesley has worked with BrightStar for over 3 years. She was the valedictorian of her nursing school class, Lesley graduated from CSU Sacramento with a bachelors of arts degree in education and is also a certified K-12 school teacher.  Her caring and dedication to the highest quality of health care is evident to those she serves.

Jennifer Norrid, Recruiter – Jennifer joined BrightStar Healthcare in 2011.  She has over seven years experience in the recruiting, staffing and Human Resources fields.  Jennifer has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Science from San Jose State University.  She enjoys working with the senior community and takes pride in placing stellar care givers with our clients.  Jennifer lives in Alamo with her husband and twin daughters.

 

Tori Lanterman, Branch Manager – Tori has worked with BrightStar for two years. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s in Community Studies, Tori comes from a non-profit background and has applied those skills to the healthcare field. She is currently the Branch Manager and coordinates and manages our skilled staffing and recruitment.

Dave Bettencourt, Human Resources and Staffing Manager – Dave started working with BrightStar in 2010 after graduating with a Bachelors degree from UC Davis in Exercise Biology.  While at Davis, Dave was active in sports, as well as leadership and volunteer activities. He also was fortunate to do some traveling around Europe after graduation. Dave returned to the East Bay and has recently completed his Masters in Health Care Administration.  Dave previously worked as Physical Therapy Aide.  Dave works with the whole BrightStar Team to provide the best quality of care.  He finds his work very rewarding.

Andy Shutes, COO – Andy joined BrightStar in 2010 and works on the financial and operational aspects of the office.  A US Navy veteran and Stanford graduate, Andy has experience in Operations and Finance for several start-ups, and now splits his time between the Lafayette office and Fountainhead Montessori School. Andy lives in Danville with his wife and two daughters.
