There are approximately 1.5 million lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older adults in this country. Many LGBT older adults have experienced discrimination and faced stigmas in their lifetime. LGBT older adults are less likely to seek services from aging service providers for fear of discrimination and may fear complex challenges and barriers in long-term care settings. This session will provide practical guidance, including program and policy recommendations, on developing inclusive programs and services for LGBT older adults.
