About our Team:

Harold Essenfeld: OwnerHaroldEssenfeldDr Harold Essenfeld is the president and owner of BrightStar Care of North Miami and Miami Beach. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, and raised in Venezuela, Dr. Essenfeld had a diverse background. He comes from a family of medical professionals, and has a history of delivering the best service to his patients.

Dr. Essenfeld has always had an insatiable thirst for learning and finding better ways to help those around him through medical practices and discovery. He graduated from University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and began his medical career with his internship and residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
He returned 12 years later to work jointly with the university’s pathology department on a revolutionary machine that reduced the time needed to process a biopsy from 24 hours to less than 1. This speedy process has not only received global recognition, but has also saved thousands of lives.

Today, he is a successful pathologist, who has owned and operated, alongside his father, Dr. Ervin Essenfeld, the largest pathology lab in Venezuela for over two decades. Serving over 120,000 patients per year, the path lab has given Dr. Essenfeld the experience and tools necessary to properly serve the North Miami and Miami Beach community.

Dr. Essenfeld understands the vital role that hiring the proper employees plays on a company and its success, and strives to find the most motivated and skilled nurses and administrators for BrightStar Care customers. He prioritizes customer satisfaction and loyalty, and will constantly work towards improving BrightStar Care and making it a better fit for our customers and our community.

Stephanie Essenfeld: Staffing Coordinator & RecruiterStephanieEssenfeldStephanie was born in Miami and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. After working in a school in South Africa with orphaned children living with HIV for a month, she realized her true passion was providing relief to those in need.

She has a BS in psychology and is pursuing a Masters degree in marriage, family, and individual therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Her background in recruiting for Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company and her psychology degree is the perfect blend for recruiting the most qualified personnel for BrightStar Care.

Adriana Essenfeld: Community Liaison DirectorAdrianaEssenfeldAdriana was born in Miami and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She discovered her passion for helping others after attending an Assisted Living Facility (ALF) field trip with her high school, where she was amazed on how much the residents enjoyed the company and energy of the young students. After this experience, she founded her project "Adopt a Grandparent," which focused on building personal relationships between children and their senior citizens, while also creating an impact, among the young volunteers.

Today, she has a BA in International Relations and Economics from Florida International University, which triggered her passion for Non-Profit Organizations and their goals.

Soon after, she joined TECHO, Latin America's largest Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), as the event planner and helped them raise over $700,000 in funds to build 280 homes for families facing extreme poverty in South America.

Coming to BrightStar Care allowed Adriana to continue to impact the lives of people in need. Adriana has a great sense of humor that brings happiness to everyone she meets. She is here to reach out to the community and spread the word on the great services we deliver!
