BrightStar Care of Baltimore County New Owners Answer the Call for a Higher Standard of Home Care in Maryland

BALTIMORE, MD – Local entrepreneurs Ryan A. Guzzino and Andri Purkanto are fulfilling their dream of making a difference in the lives of residents in the Baltimore community by acquiring the BrightStar Care home care and medical staffing agency in Baltimore County.   The new owners will continue to provide the same range of compassionate, person-centered medical and non-medical care to people of all ages, from infants to seniors in the safety and comfort of their homes.

Andri Purkanto and Ryan Guzzino recently completed the purchase of BrightStar Care of Baltimore County and Baltimore City from Lynn Berberich.  Lynn has provided exceptional service and care for the Baltimore Community for the past 10+ years.  Lynn’s immediate plans include joining her husband in his retirement and having more time for volunteer work with the Alzheimer’s Foundation and the Maryland Association for Parkinson’s Support and her artwork.

Andri-Pukanto-Baltimore-County-BrightStar-Co-Owner-(1).jpgAndri has 15+ years of experience working for S&P 500 companies in global leadership roles. Andri and Ryan’s lifelong pursuit is to find an opportunity to indulge their intellectual passion of life, enjoy doing it, and at the same time contribute something beyond themselves to an organization in ways that help employees, customers, societies, and mankind. Purchasing BrightStar Care of Baltimore allows them to achieve this dream.  Lynn has done a tremendous job building BrightStar’s reputation as the home care company of choice in the Baltimore community. Andri and Ryan are committed to strengthening the reputation for customer service and quality of care that BrightStar represents.

“Acquiring the Baltimore County BrightStar Care Franchise  enables me to fulfill my passion for helping more people in the community” said co-owner of Ryan-Guzzino-Baltimore-County-Home-Care-Agency-Owner.jpgBrightStar Care of Baltimore County, Ryan Guzzino,  “Through this acquisition, I hope to make an even bigger impact on the lives of the community members who require our services.”

BrightStar Care recently conducted third-party research that shows that as families seek quality in-home care for their aging loved ones, the most important factors they consider include having a compassionate caregiver they can trust, somebody who understands the unique needs of their loved one, and having qualified, skilled medical professionals overseeing their care. However, the lack of clinical quality standards within the local and national private duty in-home care sector, combined with the public’s lack of knowledge of the industry, can make it challenging for Baltimore County families confronted with the need for care or professionals looking to select a trustworthy service partner.

Further setting them apart from the competition, BrightStar Care of Baltimore Counties is RN Led.  Director of Nursing, Tynisha Mosley-Bates, RN, BSN, is one of the most highly recognized nurses in Baltimore County, recognized nationally as the 2018 Northeast Region Nurse of the Year for BrightStar Care.  She creates unique, personalized plans of care for each and every client and oversees a professional care team of well-qualified, experienced caregivers to deliver expert, compassionate, and personal care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Tynisha became a Registered Nurse in 2009 and has worked with BrightStar’ pediatrics to geriatrics patients since 2015.   Tynisha  is most passionate about creating a respectful, professional and caring environment in each of BrightStar Care’s client’s homes.  She values shared decision making with families and loved ones.  As Director of Nursing, she leads regularly scheduled care plan review meetings for every client.
