Celebrate 2016 National Nurses Week

April 29, 2016
National Nurses Week, which runs from May 6–12, is a chance to honor the hardworking nurses who care for our loved ones throughout the year. When you think of a nurse, the first image that may spring to mind is an employee in a large hospital. However, there are also millions of at-home nurses who offer experienced care to homebound individuals and seniors. For National Nurses Week, BrightStar Care is honored to salute all nurses, who are often the unsung heroes of the medical profession.
How BrightStar Care Is Honoring Nurses Our experienced home care nurses are the reason we can deliver upon our promise of “A Higher Standard of Home Care.” BrightStar Care employs more than 5,000 nurses, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and licensed vocational nurses. This year, we’re encouraging our followers to celebrate the nurses in their life. Take a photo of yourself thanking a nurse and upload it to Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook with the hashtag #ThankANurse. Together, let’s take a moment out of our busy days to express appreciation for the dedicated men and women who deeply impact the lives of our loved ones.
What to Give the Nurse in Your Life There are many ways big and small to honor the nurses in your life. Deliver a handwritten note thanking them for their dedication and explaining how much their top-of-the-line care means to you and your family. Surprise them with a bouquet of fresh flowers to take home after their shift. Put together a self-care basket that includes pampering niceties such as sweet-smelling lotions, aromatherapy oils, or candles. Nurses are constantly on their feet; why not gift them a 30-minute massage at a nearby spa? Similarly, a gift certificate for a manicure or a pedicure is a pampering treat. Other nurse gifts can include a homemade treat or a basket of healthy snacks including fresh fruit and gourmet nuts.
