2018 Caregiver of the Year Award

May 31, 2018

Congratulations to Andrea Andrews - Idaho's 2018 Caregiver of the Year

Every year HAPPEN (http://www.happenidaho.com/) hosts the annual Caregiver of the Year awards. Facilities, boise-caregiver-of-year.jpghospitals, in home care companies, and other healthcare organizations all over the Treasure Valley can nominate their caregivers for the caregiver of year award or the Personal Care Assistant (CNA) of the year award. There are 10 finalists in each category. The finalists are given two tickets to the event (one for their guest) as well as a $100 gift card. They do not know who the winner is until the end of the awards show, when the winner from each category is announced after their entire nomination letter is read out loud at the event.

We have been fortunate enough to have a winner almost every year for the last five years! We have some amazing care team members working for us. This year, our caregiver Andrea Andrews won for Caregiver of the year. Our CNA, Lacey Dees, was a finalist in her category. The grand prize winner gets a trophy, plaque, $1000 prize, and a proclamation from the governor of Idaho in their name for the day as “Caregiver of the Year” in their honor.

Last year we had a finalist in each category, in 2016 our care team members won in BOTH categories (https://www.brightstarcare.com/boise/about-us/caregiver-of-the-year-awards) , in 2015 our caregiver won Caregiver of the Year and our CNA was a finalist, in 2014 our CNA won PCA of the year and our caregiver was a finalist, and in 2013 our CNA won PCA of the year.

HAPPEN also partners with local schools to give away thousands of dollars in scholarships to caregivers who apply for them. You do not have to be a finalist to apply, any caregiver can apply for the scholarships. They announce those winners at the event as well.
