Fall Prevention: Help for Unbalanced Boulder Seniors

January 27, 2018
Image result for senior balanceBoulder seniors have a 1 in 3 higher chance of fall risk once they are over the age of 65. As each decade passes, this risk gets higher. Along with this higher risk of falling, comes the increased risk of injury.

In many cases, the injury is so devastating, some seniors require more care and support, losing a lot of their independence. Because of these facts, it’s no surprise that many Boulder seniors fear aging and falling. “A Matter of Balance” is a class that helps those with this fear. It is an 8 week course that helps with not only the fear of falling, but also helps with escalating physical activity. Through this program, goals will be set, discussions will be held for back and forth conversation, and ideas will be presented on living a safer and full life.
