Help for the Boulder Senior Caregiver During the Holidays

December 19, 2017

Know Your Limits as a Boulder Senior Caregiver Amidst the Holidays

The holiday season can be a tough and stressful time for caregivers of Boulder seniors. Be aware of the signs. When it comes to caregiving, you are always giving of yourself. The holidays are no exception. In fact, you are giving more of yourself during this season. While you are in midst of planning your own holiday as well as the Boulder senior you are caring for, your level of stress can reach an all-time high, and you may eventually meet your breaking point.Image result for caregiving at christmas

It is at this breaking point that all of your emotions, energy - mental and physical - may become tapped out and emptied. When we hit this point, all motivation escapes us, and not only do we suffer, but those Boulder seniors around us as well.

Visit your local AARP chapter for more information on support for caregivers who are feeling stretched thin during the holidays.
