Safe and Healthy Travel Suggestions for Boulder - Broomfield Families

With recent events, family members with essential business may be required to travel.

Postponing travel plans if you can:

Because a pandemic is a "rapidly evolving situation and guidance is frequently changing," all travelers should check travel advisories with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the State Department, and the World Health Organization (WHO). These agencies recommend "all travelers thoroughly research their destinations and consult with their medical or nursing providers for any specific medical concerns."

If you are planning to travel, you are advised "to have contingency plans in the event of major disruptions."

Families can contact BrightStar Care of Boulder / Broomfield for help if they are unable to return to the U.S. due to in-country quarantines or if travel is delayed because of canceled flights when we are caring for their relative. We will help support our clients during an emergency. Please contact us before traveling so we can help you with your emergency plan.

If you are traveling, before you go we encourage you to establish connections with people who can assist you in an emergency. For more information on emergency preparedness, please visit BrightStar Care of Boulder / Broomfield's wellness resources for more information about caring for a senior in an emergency:  https://www.brightstarcare.com/resources/health-wellness/disaster-preparedness-for-seniors.

Learn how to create an emergency plan, so you have peace of mind when you travel. Before leaving a senior or disabled person alone, please share details about who they can contact for help if your return is delayed.

BrightStar Care can help you plan for the care of a loved one while you are away. We can initiate safety checks and help with shopping and errands, including trips to the pharmacy in your absence.
