Lori M. Kemeny, Agency Co-Owner/Director of Sales & Recruiting
As the BrightStar Care of Cary agency co-owner, Lori understands the importance of providing top notch customer service and compassionate care to clients, families and business professionals in the community.
Lori is a native of Cary, North Carolina and is a graduate of Cary High School.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Public and Interpersonal Communication from North Carolina State University, and was a care giver, herself, while putting herself through college.
Shortly after receiving her college degree, Lori pursued a career in recruiting where she has extensive experience hiring top talent at all levels.
As a home care agency owner, Lori brings a unique skill set to the organization to carefully screen, identify and ensure BrightStar Care of Cary is only providing the top care givers to clients in the Cary and surrounding areas.
Through personal experience, Lori understands the importance of caring for loved ones and ensuring the care provided is reliable and meets a higher standard.
With losing her mother to breast cancer at the age of nineteen and caring for her father, who suffered several strokes, Lori, quickly got a glimpse of the challenges that families suffer every day with few options that provide the level of care that BrightStar Care of Cary guarantees.
With wanting to make a difference in her community and a having a true passion for nurturing others, Lori is excited and committed to providing a level of service that will put families at ease when the time of need arises.
To add another layer of exceptional service to her clients, Lori plans to add her twin sister, Natalie Walker, RN, who specializes in cardiac care, to the family business once she returns from overseas, where she is currently providing medical care in the Middle East. Estimated joining date is April 2015. Lori’s oldest daughter, Lauren Kemeny, CNA, is currently on staff to help ensure the level of service that is expected, at the CNA level.
Lori continues to live in the Cary, NC area with her husband, John, and they share 4 children, Johnny(11), Quinn(10 months), Lauren(24) and Erica(22).
Lori likes to spend her free time in the hockey rink cheering on her son’s travel hockey team, The Carolina Lightening!

Vashti Johnson, Director of Nursing
Vashti Johnson discovered at an early age that she loved to care for others.
She explored nursing in young adulthood, when she became a certified nursing assistant.
She worked in the long term care setting and in home health.
Later, she studied at James Sprunt Community College, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse.
Vashti started her nursing career at Sampson Regional Hospital as a staff nurse in Obstetrics and Pediatrics.
Her expertise developed with newborn infants. A few years later, she was given the opportunity to become a Resident Care Coordinator of a local assisted living facility.
Under Vashti's leadership, the facility achieved great success, including earning deficiency-free surveys from the NC Department of Health and Human Services and ranking in the top five in overall performance with the company.
Vashti continued with long term care, discovering a passion for geriatrics and long term care patients.
She has also served as a Staff Development Coordinator, Quality Assurance Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing for a large Skilled Nursing Facility in Durham.
While serving along with the previous Director of Nursing and under her leadership as Director of Nursing, the facility grew from a 2 star to a 4 star facility within a few years.
Her commitment to learning evidence-based practice for providing quality care to patients deepens as she continues with her education.
Vashti is projected to earn a Bachelors of Nursing from Regis University in May of 2015.
She has already been accepted to the Masters of Nursing program at Regis University, which begins in the fall of 2015.
Vashti is the proud mother of one son, who was born prematurely and has special needs.
Caring for him provided great influence to pursue nursing as a career.
She also works at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital on the Rehabilitation unit, where she cares for patients who need additional skilled care prior to going home.
Vashti Johnson is excited to be a part of the BrightStar Care team and is committed to provide quality care and customer service to all BrightStar Care clients.
