Jim Flickinger | Owner, Agency Administrator After attending Wheaton Graduate School I spent 24+ years here locally as a Marketing/Sales Executive for a specialty engineering firm. A softening economy started my search for an opportunity to run a small business. When Judy and I heard about BrightStar, we decided it was a perfect opportunity to help families, create jobs, and establish a business in this growing industry right here in our hometown area of Wheaton, DuPage County.

John Silva | Branch Manager I Graduated from Miami University (OH) with a BS in Biology in 2004. After college I started my own Senior care business in 2005 and sold the company in 2007 to join a Medicare certified Home Health company. Years later I began working in sales and management and eventually worked my way back to the senior care market as COO for a local home care company in Glen Ellyn. Today, I bring my experience and knowledge to BrightStar Care of Central DuPage-Wheaton taking care of our day-to-day operations, where I have the privilege to oversee the impact we have within our local community.
Diane Thorson RN, MSN | Director of Nursing & Compliance
Prior to arriving at BrightStar in 2013 , I served in multiple management roles both in the hospital and home setting over my 33 years in Nursing. Initially, I was the Director of Complience, I was responsible for departmental analysis related to productivity, staff process improvement and client satisfaction resulting in improved patient outcomes. This required a restructuring of all internal processes and direct involvement in process improvement initiatives to increase Home Health Compare and Customer Satisfaction Scores. I possess experience in annual budget processes, as a field staff member and direct supervisory clinical roles. Today, I bring my extensive regulatory knowledge and compliance with process improvement to take positive patient outcomes to the next level of clinical care from BrightStar to your home and/or facility. I am most passionate about family-centered care and the concept of ‘aging in place’ and I love the fact that I am able to make a significant difference in the lives of clients by helping them stay safe and healthy wherever they reside.
Angela Riley, RN, BSN | Assistant Director of Nursing After caring for a loved one with a life-threatening disease for 13 months, I began my journey to become a nurse so I could really make a difference in the lives of people who are going through the difficult journey of an illness. My heart has always been with the geriatric population and working in the Community health setting with Brightstar gives me the opportunity to advocate for this population. Providing resources, care and support to our clients and their families in the community, is essential to promote peace of mind, safety and companionship to our most vulnerable. Brightstar’s philosophy of Nurse Case Managers supervising and assessing clients on a continuous basis, provides superior care unlike any other.

Sonia Del Campo | Home Care Staffing Manager I joined the Dupage-Wheaton office of BrightStar to connect with clients and our people who serve them, our great Caregiving staff. My role is to work with our Nurse Case Managers to match the skills, personalities and availability of our field staff with the needs of each client. My job is to be sure that each of our staff members knows where they need to be and when to be there. In the healthcare business, our clients’ needs change with every passing hour and I help meet those needs by sending our field care team to them.
Leonard Sanchez MBA | Director of Business Development My personal experience of caring for my father with Dementia and my special son with Autism inspired me to consider a transition from a successful 20+ years as a marketing executive within the high-tech/telecommunications industry to join BrightStar. My mission to expand our impact and thought leadership on the community has resulted in a positive experience for our elderly and children with special needs. My Northwestern Kellogg MBA in marketing/International Business and management experience has also been a wonderful asset in establishing our reputation as a quality and responsive provider of care throughout DuPage county and nationwide.

A lot of the time, families are overwhelmed trying to find care and are unsure of their next steps, this is where I come in to help. My favorite part of my job is being a guide to families trying to navigate through this process and answer as many questions as I can. BrightStar Care is very well known in DuPage County and I consider it an incredible blessing to be a part of a team making a positive impact in the community.
Vince San Miguel | Recruiter I initially joined BrightStar Care in 2010 as a field staff employee. I am blessed to return to this organization in an administrative role to improve the quality of life for my patients and uphold a high-quality standard for my employees. BrightStar Care has continued to allow me the opportunity to impact the lives of families in our community for the better and I look forward continuing to serve with the best of my ability.
