November 5, 2018

November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month so our team joined together to participate in the 2018 Chicago Alzheimer’s Walk.

Led by Joe Duellman, President and owner of BrightStar Care of Chicago and La Grange, our team of Linda Kunicki, Lenora Alabi, Ashlee Adelman and Taylor Mayberry met at Montrose Harbor. It was a cold and rainy morning but with coffee, donuts and most importantly team spirit we gathered together to support the cause.

According tho the Alzheimer’s Association the amount of people with the disease has more than doubled according to their statistics.

Throughout the year BrightStar Care of Chicago and La Grange brings awareness to disease and brings attention to the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. Some of the ways we do this is through our Bright Connections program and the many continuing education events we offer to professionals and community members. Recently we participated in THE CHANGING AGING TOUR and did a presentation for healthcare professionals and community members called ALIVE INSIDE which focuses on how music affects our brain and has shown remarkable results for those with Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
