Conejo Valley BrightStar Care Clinical Staff Training
BrightStar Care has the best caregivers and to maintain that higher standard of care and to support our staff we offer in house Continued Education Programs.
CNA’s and Caregivers have to complete a minimum of 12 hours of training as required by state regulations which we must follow and monitor closely.
Our most recent training was “Discover your flair for excellent care”.
Flair – 1. A natural Talent or aptitude; a knack. 2.Instinctive discernment; keenness.
Adding “flair” to caring for clients allows each health care professional the opportunity to tap in to and reflect on why they entered into the healthcare industry!!
Health care professionals are experts at solving problems of “fixing things”. But providing “emotional support” is the opposite of “fixing things”. It involves active listening , a relaxed but engaged body posture, eye contact, a reassuring touch when appropriate and listening to the emotions and needs of the individual. For most of us this is the way we interact daily with our family and friends, however when we are trusted with the care of another it is important to discover how to care with excellence, to be consistent in the care you give and to reflect: am I empathic, am I kind and am I genuine.
