Matt Shriner, CSA, Owner - Matt has worked professionally in healthcare for 17 years starting with patient care positions in hospitals, moving on to marketing and sales positions in disease management and pharmaceutical companies. Matt established the BrightStar franchise in 2007 in the Lafayette area. Since that time BrightStar has developed a strong reputation in the community for high quality customer service and patient care. Matt volunteers with the Lafayette Senior Services Commission and several other community-based organizations.
Christy Wolf, RN, Director of Patient Care Services - Christy has worked with BrightStar since 2009. She has been a Registered Nurse for over 16 years and worked in the healthcare field for the past 25 years. Christy’s prior experience includes working in orthopedics at John Muir Medical Center, a Certified Nurse Assistant at John Muir and a Physical Therapy Assistant. She enjoys the home health setting the most because she can focus on one patient at a time, as well as develop a close relationship with them and their family members. She feels that it is caregiving at its best!
Jennifer Norrid, Director of Operations – General Manager - Jennifer joined BrightStar Care in 2011. Her experience includes the recruiting, staffing, and Human Resources fields. Jennifer enjoys working with the senior community and is passionate about ensuring our clients receive premium, personalized care.
Lesley Mitchell, LVN, Director of Operations – Finance/Clinical – Since starting at BrightStar with nursing visits in 2009, her role has evolved into more of an office based job, connecting operations to our client care. She is passionate about our quality, cares deeply about each client, and is tirelessly improving our operations to deliver the best client experience in the industry.
Sharon (Shari) Maxwell, CSA, Director of Client Care – Shari has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies from Sacramento State University. In January 2011, Shari joined BrightStar after a 25-year career at a large membership & insurance company, with a background in sales and marketing. Also, in June 2011, Shari achieved her Certified Senior Advisor certificate. She truly has a passion for helping people, especially seniors!
Veronica Bruner, Recruiter – Veronica graduated from the University of Alabama in 2014 with a degree is Health Studies. She has volunteered and worked in healthcare settings for over 8 years and enjoys interacting with people and problem solving. Veronica is excited to be working with BrightStar and is eager to work collaboratively with our team to provide the best possible care.
Catherine Demos, Client Care Manager - Catherine earned her BA, MA and C.Phil. degrees from UC Berkeley in Near Eastern Studies. As an archaeologist, she managed projects in Armenia, Turkey, Dagestan, Israel, Hawaii and California. Her collaborative project management skills, and unique experience working with teams and clients from diverse cultural backgrounds complements the BrightStar experience. As a BrightStar Client Care Manager, she looks forward to hearing your story!
Jessica Weatherbee, Client Care Manager - Jessica earned her BA in 2002 in Business Administration from the University Of Phoenix. She took several years away from the corporate world to focus on family. After returning to school in 2008, she earned her CLEC from UC San Diego and worked for several years as a Postpartum Doula and Lactation Educator helping new parents transition into parenthood. She joined BrightStar in 2011 as part of our on call team and now came back as a Client Care Manager with a broad understanding of the BrightStar philosophy and a passion to serve others.

BrightStar Home Care of the East Bay proudly provides Home Care and Support for seniors living in, but not limited to, Walnut Creek, Lafayette and San Ramon. Our services include 24-hour in home care, and support in independent and assisted senior living communities. We provide all levels of home care from companion services to Skilled Nursing. Our highly skilled caregivers and nurses provide Medical Staffing, Senior Home Care, In-Home Skilled Nursing, In-Home Physical Therapy for pediatric, adult and senior patients as well as Companion and Personal Care for seniors with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. We also provide Home Child Care, Sitter and Nanny Services for Children and Support for New Mothers. We Support Veterans as a partner of the VA/Veterans administration provider network and area a Home Care Provider for U.S. Department of Labor, Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation, and a DOL DEEOIC provider.
