Stay Destressed: Tips for the Contra Costa County Senior Caregiver During the Holidays

The holiday season, while fun, is incredibly busy and can be quite chaotic. As a Central Contra Costa County senior caregiver, take time for yourself. It’s no secret that the holidays are the busiest time of year for most people. As a result, we tend to forget about ourselves, and stay focused on what needs to get done and on the needs of those we are caring for. Don’t let yourself get lost in the madness.

Do at least one thing for yourself daily, even something as small as squeezing in a workout. If you maintain your physical health, your emotional health will benefit, and even though so simple, this one thing you do for yourself will make a world of difference. A practical way you can incorporate exercise into your daily routine amidst holiday madness, is a simple walk around the mall while shopping for presents. You check one thing off of your to do list, and take care of yourself at the same time. Take your dog for a walk to get some fresh air while you exercise. Remember: Central Contra Costa County senior caregivers are allowed rest and fun during the holiday season too!
