Providing RN oversight on every case from day one
Shari Kennedy-Jensen, RN
How long have you been a Nurse?
I have been a registered nurse for over 11 years.
What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care®?
Much of my career has been spent managing the meticulous details of critically ill patients, treating traumatic injuries, and critically thinking through life and death situations in a fast-paced environment. My focus has always been to provide the most comprehensive care possible to not only the patient,
but their families as well.
My passion for effective and comprehensive care was the driving force in developing a program for our ICU called “Caring For The Patient That Does Not Want To Be Cared For.” This program included customizable protocols I then presented at the National Teaching Institute of the Association of Critical Care Nurses annual conference. Many of
the same principles can be applied to the patients I care for in the home setting as well.
Overall, my areas of focus have included 8 years in Intensive Care nursing specializing in neurovascular, level 1 trauma, and cardiopulmonary care – 3 years in radiology nursing management of special procedures.
What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
I truly enjoy the personal interaction with our patients and families in the home care setting.
By spending more time with our clients, I can provide more customized and effective care.
Additionally, I strongly believe in nurturing an environment of collaboration and continuous learning for not only our nurses, but also our caregivers.
They are the face of our business and I strive continuously to engage and support them all in a way that allows us to truly provide “A Higher Standard of Care!”
I provide A Higher Standard of Care for our BrightStar Care® clients by...
Valuing our clients as individuals and celebrating the life they have lived and entrusted to our care. I take the time to get to know them and understand what is important to them.
Valuing our staff as individuals and helping them develop their personal strengths while maintaining the highest standards in the industry.
