Lorelei Palemine, RN, BSN
Regional Clinical Director
Lorelei was born and raised in the Philippines, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1994. She was inspired to become a nurse when her mother, at a very young age, was diagnosed and passed away from breast cancer.
Prior to coming to BrightStar Care®, Lorelei worked as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Heritage Harbor, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Anne Arundel County, for many years. Early in her career, she discovered her calling with the geriatric population. As BrightStar's Regional Clinical Director, she oversees all client cases and is responsible for staff training and the quality of care BrightStar is known for. She is completely dedicated to her clients and their families. “Working in this field is a true honor and one that I appreciate daily. At BrightStar I am able to spend more time getting to know our clients and families, which allows me to really make a difference in their lives," she says.
Laura Jones, RN, BSN
Regional Director of Skilled Services
Laura Jones moved to Talbot County from Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1988. She became interested in home care after having the opportunity to care for a family member suffering from a terminal illness. In 2002, Laura found her calling and embarked on a career of providing care to individuals in her community.
To further enhance her skills, Laura attended the McQueen Gibbs School of Nursing, where she graduated in 2009 with an Associates Degree in Nursing, and shortly thereafter became a licensed registered nurse. She has experience in skilled nursing and rehabilitation, long term care, assisted living, case management and community hospice nursing. While working full time and raising a family, Laura worked towards earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stevenson University, which she completed in 2013.
She joined BrightStar of Easton in December, 2013, a position that enabled her to return to her true calling – to provide members of her local community with highly skilled and compassionate home care. Regional Director of Private Duty Operations and Recruiting
Wendy Traff-Barrow was born and raised in Illinois and relocated to the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she pursued her passion in health care. Prior to joining BrightStar in 2015, she spent 16 years working with area seniors in an assisted living environment. For Wendy, the most rewarding aspect of her experience in assisted living was the close relationships she built with her clients and their families.
“Working with seniors has made a tremendous impact on my life,” she says. “It has been a great experience and I take great pride in all that I’m able to give back to my community.”
Prior to assuming this position, Wendy acted as branch manager of BrightStar's Easton location from November, 2015 until February 2018. As branch manager, she was responsible for that office's daily operations, overseeing client care coordination, care staff and administrative staff.
Most recently, Wendy acted as Marketing and Recruiting Liaison, Wendy worked on BrightStar Care's various community outreach initiatives across the Eastern Shore, including their 'Senior Solutions' educational series, which focuses on age-related topics, ranging from Alzheimer’s and dementia care to home safety tips for seniors. Additionally, she was responsible for staff recruiting initiatives in all three of BrightStar Care's Eastern Shore and Anne Arundel markets.
In her role as Regional Director of Private Duty Operations and Recruiting, Wendy oversees the daily operations of all three offices, their Branch Managers and administrative staff. She also oversees all recruting efforts.
Regional Director of Marketing and Community Outreach
A 2001 graduate of Washington College in Chestertown, Christina Wingate-Spence began her career with Upper Shore Aging, Inc., the Area Agency on Aging for Caroline, Kent and Talbot Counties, where managed three programs assisting area senior citizens. The past 14 years of her career has been spent in health care sales, strategy, marketing and communications, having worked for Genesis HealthCare and HeartFields Assisted Living at Easton, a Five Star Senior Living community. Most recently, Christina was a team member of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, where she started in January 2013 as a Communications and Marketing specialist and then assumed the role of manager of Marketing and Communications, in August 2016.
Over the past several years, Christina has been active in several community organizations and currently serves as immediate past president/vice president for the Board of Directors of Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence.
In her role as regional director of marketing and community outreach, Christina oversees BrightStar’s community outreach and educational initiatives on the Eastern Shore and Anne Arundel County.
Regional Director of Finance
Suzanne, a certified public accountant, graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. Prior to joining BrightStar in 2009, she worked for Coopers & Lybrand and the Visiting Nurses Association in Connecticut.
Suzanne is the Regional Director of Finance for the Anne Arundel County and both Eastern Shore offices. In this role, she generates weekly invoices, submits claims to insurance and worker’s compensation companies and manages the payroll process for BrightStar team members.
“I have a true appreciation for homecare, as I have personally experienced its benefits and have seen how it impacts clients and their families,” she says.
A resident of Caroline County, Kendra has extensive experience in accounting, office management and human resources and has prior experience in a health care setting, having held positions in both skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
As branch manager, Kendral is responsible for daily operations of BrightStar Care’s Easton location, including client care coordination, and oversight of the care staff and administrative staff.
