Cassandra | Owner, LPN | Administrator

I fell in love working with seniors as a volunteer at a skilled nursing facility in the activities department while I was in middle school. I was the bingo caller, exercise instructor, game facilitator, spa assistant, meal companion, dance partner, and FRIEND to all the residents of the community. Once I graduated from high school, I began a career path that involved working closely with seniors in many different capacities; Caregiver, Certified Nurse Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Health Care Administration. I have been a part of BrightStar since 2009 in many different roles; Field Nurse, Clinical Manager, and Administrator. In 2013 I purchased her this location in the Loveland / Fort Collins area. My passion is to connect care providers who love to serve the elderly, like I had in middle school, to those needing that care. I have two beautiful daughters and a German Shepard named Aria. They all enjoy the outdoors and activities Colorado has to offer.

Theresa | Director of Community Relations, LPN

I started working with Cassandra from the ground up and started off as a field nurse. I then came in to do scheduling part time here at Bright Star Care. Before being here, I was then the owner of a small business and after careful thought and consideration, I shut my own business down and came to work at Brightstar care full time. I have been with the company for 7 years going on 8 next year as the Director of community relations. As a nurse LPN I can see what people need by speaking with them face to face.  Since I have been a nurse for 26 years, it comes naturally to see what is going on in the present and what can happen down the road. I have lived in Loveland for 23 years, so I'm part of my community and know it well. It's nice to know at the end of the day I have helped patients and their families navigate the health care system, helped everyone get their wishes met, and wind up where they want to be.

Wendy | Director of Nurses | Nurse Manager, RN

Hello, I’m Wendy Conn, Registered Nurse with Bright Star Care. I have worked as a home health case manager for the past 5 years. Prior to Bright Star Care I came from a progressive nursing home in Columbia, Missouri called Tiger Place, which allowed their residents freedom of health choices in their care. I also have worked and lived on Long Island, New York. My nursing education was completed in New York where the entry to nursing is highly competitive. My experience includes working as a nurse and tech for a staffing agency, and in the Good Samaritan Hospital in the Emergency, Psychiatric and Neurology  departments. I have worked with many quadriplegics, and have the expertise to perform total patient care. I’ve also taken clients on vacations and cruises so they can spend time with their families in recreational settings. I love caring for people, football-the Chiefs, as I grew up on a farm near Clinton, Missouri. I am deeply passionate about the care of our community, while staying positive and using a creative approach to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Judy| Office Manager | National Account Representative

As the office manager/national account representative I bring my background from working in the medical support field since 1998 to Bright Star Care. I started with durable medical equipment contract coordination, and in 2000 I started working in insurance. Since then I have been in administration and a manager of insurance departments, and have done benefits analyses, sales and claims for many areas of medical benefits from individual to large self-funded medical groups, long term care, worker’s compensation, Medicaid and Medicare. I hold insurance licenses for the State of Colorado since 2000. I care deeply about my clients and staff here, and want to make each day fulfilling to every one of them. My grown children and grandchildren live in Northern Colorado and I enjoy spending as much time as I can with them. I’ve traveled extensively and love to any time I can. I also enjoy music, the arts, cooking and all things outdoor Colorado.

Alicia | Assistant to Cassandra Mogel

Born and raised in Colorado, I feel lucky to live with the mountains, the hometown feel, and open minded, friendly community here. While living a short time in Minnesota I became a Certified Nursing Assistant. This enabled me to do meaningful work within a community, something I envisioned to help people in need. I then transitioned to working in an operating room for three years because of my deep fascination of the day to day medical profession. From there I worked in a senior care facility, Facility Pioneer Care, working with patients with memory care problems. This taught me not to take life and our memory for granted. Connecting on a deeper level, becoming part of people’s lives, fulfills me as I work with someone closely. This is probably why I gravitated to being a personal assistant to various doctors, most recently Dr. Lehman, whose life vision, and work ethic is something I treasure bringing to Bright Star Care. It’s such a joy to work with Cassandra and the team here, as she encourages team building and problem solving so our clients get the care they deserve. Family is important to me, and here I’m part and parcel of this work family, where I learn continually. This family, and the sense of meaning I get from it, is what I call happiness.
