Providing RN oversight on every case from day one
Lydia Paraskevas, RN, BSN
How long have you been a nurse?
I have been a registered nurse for almost 33 years, working entirely in the Dallas area. I graduated from University of Texas in Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care?
I have worked as a hands-on nurse my entire career in nursing. I started out as a caregiver working in home health while working my way through nursing school. The majority of my nursing career has been spent in pediatric nursing (general medical surgical, gastroenterology, and also Hematology/Oncology Infusion). I have served on committees for prevention of infections, particularly for patients who are immunocompromised and have central line IV access catheters, implanted ports, and PICC lines. I have extensive experience with infusion therapy as well as chemotherapy administration. I have received several excellence in nursing awards, specifically from Baylor University Medical Center and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about providing thorough, compassionate, and competent care to not only our clients but also to their families. When we are caring for our client, we are also treating their family as well. Our clients and their families have given us the opportunity to help them through very difficult, and sometimes the most difficult, time of their lives. This is a joy and a privilege that I take very seriously and hold close to my heart.
I provide a higher standard of care for our clients by…
By providing the best care that I can for our clients and their families. By holding myself, as well as our nurses and caregivers accountable for the care that we as BrightStar Care employees provide for our clients and their families by providing competent, compassionate care by upholding BrightStar Care standards and values.
