What You Will Need

  • Large eggs, as many as you wish to boil
  • Water
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • A medium saucepan
  • A small bowl
  • Ice
  • A slotted spoon

What to Do

  • Fill the medium saucepan with about 2 inches of water
  • Place the raw eggs in the medium saucepan
  • Add about 1 tablespoon of salt
  • Place the saucepan over high heat
  • Allow to come to a boil
  • When the saucepan is boiling, turn the heat off but do not move the pan
  • Allow to sit for 13 minutes exactly
  • At 13 minutes, remove the eggs using a slotted spoon and place them directly in a small bowl with ice and water
  • Allow the eggs to cool in the ice bath for 5 minutes
  • When the eggs have cooled, remove them one by one and crack the shells
  • When you have cracked the shells, you can begin removing the shell completely
  • Dip the egg into the ice bath as needed to remove small slivers of shell
  • Serve immediately or store for future use in the refrigerator
