My daughter Amanda, is quite the challenge. She is both physically and mentally limited and requires intensive care. Sharon strives to keep Amanda mentally and physically stimulated on a daily basis. Some of the activities that she does with my daughter include hiking for exercise at the St. Charles Mall as well as in the house, by taking her to the library on a regular basis to check out DVD’s and books of interest for the week. They have also visited sculpture gardens, gone to area zoos; horse shoes as well as movies and local plays. I must admit I am sometimes jealous of all the fun things they do throughout the year. In addition to all the previously listed activities away from home, Sharon also managed to coordinate a small garden that Amanda cares for daily, harvesting tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers!!! It brings Amanda such joy to be able to bring such a gift to our dinner table!!!
They also have taken up feeding the birds in the neighborhood. This has turned into a battle with the squirrel population but is stimulating just the same.
While all of these activities are going on, I, a single widowed mother am free to do what I need to do without worry thanks to Sharon. Since she is the mother of three children of her own, and for the reasons listed above, I know that Amanda couldn’t be in better hands physically and emotionally. It’s as if Amanda has a “Second Mother”.-L.G., Batavia
Crystal has been my caregiver for several years. She is like a member of my family. She does all the work that I need – laundry, grocery shopping, my personal healthcare (showers). She has become a dear friend and is considered such by my family. Wonderful sense of humor, compassionate and caring – that’s Crystal! ~ P.N., St. Charles
The RN you sent to us yesterday was awesome. She fit in as if she was the regular nurse. Your staff is very professional. You do what you say. Thank you.~ V.S., West Dundee
I want to thank you for all you did for me last week. My wife’s caregiver was excellent and became one of the family. My wife may not know, but I believe she does, what our BrightStar caregiver did for her and for our family. I will never forget her compassion and the care she provided for my wife.~ T.M., Elburn
BrightStar was wonderful. We were extremely happy with the care you provided for our mother.~ R.I., North Aurora
I am indebted to you for finding the perfect caregivers for my husband. I know that was not an easy task. Their care and compassion was wonderful and so very much appreciated.~ M.S., Geneva
Thank-you so much for the care you provided for our Dad during the past 2.5 years. We appreciate the thoughtful care provided by the BrightStar caregivers. They are truly special people.~ C. and J.D., Hampshire
My entire family wants to express our sincerest gratitude to BrightStar healthcare for the exceptional job you CNAs did in looking after both of our parents. You have an outstanding staff. They made us feel at ease and lifted the heavy burden of caring for Mom and Dad off our shoulders. This allowed us to be their children again rather than their caregivers.~ The D. Family, St. Charles
I want to let you know how much we have valued having BrightStar’s employees care for my parents through their last years. My mom and dad wanted to remain together in their home of 62 years. Working with BrightStar, we siblings were successful in making that happen for them. As their needs were changing, you worked with us to get the right match of caregivers for my parents. When I first began dating, my sister warned me that I may have to kiss a lot of toads before I met the handsome prince. Going through two other agencies before we found BrightStar reminds me of this saying. Once we got working with your organization, I knew we had found the professionalism, quality of care, and sincerity of employees that we wanted for my parents. Thank you.~M.S., Sycamore
I wanted to let you know what an exceptional job C.G. did taking care of Shirley for so many months. She was a blessing...I am so happy that C.G. was there to make Shirley's last days as pleasant as possible.~M.J.S., Geneva
L.H. intuitively knows what needs to be done to improve my quality of life and never stops doing extra activities to give a patient more sense of control and confidence in recovery. She is a "bright star" and we felt blessed to welcome her into our home - speeding up my recovery from a broken neck and overcoming my loss of balance.~L.N., St Charles
When my wife passed away after 8 years of ovarian cancer a BrightStar nurse was in attendance with us and did a wonderful job. Her name was J.B. , and she conducted herself with courtesy, kindness and professionalism. We wanted to write and express our gratitude for her obvious competence and assured manner. I knew the minute she walked in the door she was "right for us."~C.C., Batavia
