Tim Golden | President and Co-Owner“My background is in medical device manufacturing and banking. I completed a Masters Degree in Finance going part time at night while working full time during the day. I have always been focused on community involvement. My 7 children give me lots of opportunity to stay busy with their activities, especially Scouts. I began training for my position as the president of BrightStar Healthcare in Lawrenceville and Athens long before I ever dreamed of starting the business. I first began to see the need for quality in-home care while serving as a “Meals on Wheels” volunteer in my community by delivering meals to homebound seniors. In rural areas I might be the only person in the entire day to interact with the person to whom I was delivering meals. I began to wonder how people survived without help. I asked myself why people had such a strong desire to remain at home in the midst of such trying circumstances. I began to understand how important it was to people, especially seniors, to remain in a familiar environment surrounded by cherished memories. I guess the thing that I enjoy most about being part of BrightStar is giving people an option about how and where they want to live out their lives.”
Carolyn Golden | Vice-President and Co-OwnerThere aren’t many native Atlantans around, but I am one of them. I graduated from Lithonia High School. After graduating from Mercer University with a BS , I taught math and science in middle school and then 3rd grade at Mount Carmel Christian School. I spent 20 years at home raising 7 children. While at home I home schooled, taught youth at church, chaired the hospitality committee for PTA and had a small design and custom curtains/covers business.
“While I was growing up, I developed a truly special relationship with my Grandmother Florence who lived with my family. I cared for Grandmother often while my mother was away at work. The time that I spent caring for my grandmother is when I believe that I began my training to care for others. My favorite thing about working with BrightStar is visiting in senior’s homes and listening to their life stories. Everyone has a story and they are incredible. Hollywood love stories have nothing on our clients who cherish a spouse after 50 or 60 years.
Lyric Mosley| Client Care Coordinator, Lawrenceville TerritoryI spent a great deal of time working as a CNA, so I know the exact issues facing our caregivers and can help them navigate them to find a better solution for scheduling conflicts. I routinely also fill in to help ensure that nursing can occur when no other individuals are available to fill the shifts.
As the CCM for Lawrenceville, it remains my job to make sure that our clients receive the best care possible as continuously as possible with limited interruptions from scheduling issues.
