00:20 It's a really interesting role for a registered nurse to play because, as a
coach, you're really focused on empowering the client with your advocacy, your teaching, and your mentoring of that client. You act as almost a personal trainer but it's along the lines of helping them understand their health care needs.
00:42 So really digging in deeply so that they can understand what their medications are about, what their chronic illness, or their acute illness is about, and helping them learn how to work that into their everyday life so that they can better manage the various aspects of their medications and of their illness to feel that they have control over it.
01:08 A care coach - I like to think of them as someone who accompanies the client on this journey. They are looking out for the client. They are teaching them how to fish rather than just giving them the fish which is a very different way of going about health care in contemporary society.
