New Housing Option for Seniors and the Disabled in Appleton, WI

January 13, 2020

Appleton and Fox City residence had a look at the first "Linked Living Home" for the elderly and disabled

Linked Living Homes are a way for seniors and the disabled to have their own independent space while keeping them close to family.  These modular living units link to existing homes or garages!

Seniors First Remodeling presented their first Linked Living Home to Appleton and held an open house for residents to see this new housing option.  Manager, Adam Czeklski and owner, Tom Cops, brought a Linked Living Home to Appleton to give us a look at future living options for seniors and disabled family members. The Linked Living Home homes attach directly onto an existing home or garage, and the placement and designs on each home can be customized.

Czeklski, a caregiver himself,, was inspired by caring for his own grandmother. He said "over the years I think it's a huge advantage to have that family member right there, being able to take care of them while being able to maintain their own private, independent space”.

Czeklski and Cops hope people will learn more about this new housing option and that more housing choices will make it easier for adult children to care for aging loved ones.  "I think it's important for everyone to know this is out there,” said Cops.

Those who visited the open house could see for themselves if a linked home is something you can live in and something you'll be comfortable living in.  Click here to learn more.
