A Letter To Home Health Essential Employees

May 1, 2020

Each morning I watch the news I see essential workers doing amazing things during this pandemic. Grocery store and restaurant employees continue to help their communities and truck drivers working longer hours to provide for the current demand. Nurses walk into hospitals on the frontline of the COVID battle. Through all the coverage, we don’t see much about home health employees, but I want you to know, We see you.

We see you working with patients in their homes around their family, unsure of their status or who all they have been around, but you smile and choose to provide help first.

We see you reassuring families and clients of what you are doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and comforting them through their worries.

We see you monitoring yours and your patient’s COVID-19 risks and tracking that information daily to the point it has become second nature.

We see you getting creative to meet the needs of your clients by doing therapy from front porches, windows, and video meetings.

We see you calling clients who do not want any services out of fear and providing option after option after option to continue care. When they still say no, you wish them well and they linger on your mind daily.

We see you starting and ending your days in prayers for protection and guidance not for just yourself but your family and your clients.

We see you leaving early in the morning into your mobile office knowing there will not be any cheers waiting for you.

We see you office team members who support your field teams by tirelessly reaching out to company after company tracking down PPE.

We see you calling on friends and family to make cloth masks, knowing that hospitals will be first in mind for donations.

We see you home health employees. We see every wonderful, selfless act you do without the recognition you deserve.

Love,
Your BrightStar Care family of team members and clients
