Rick opened BrightStar Care in The Woodlands in 2007 and was the very first BrightStar owner in the greater Houston area. After over 30 years of executive experience in the corporate healthcare world, Rick wanted to make a more direct impact on the lives of families in need in the Houston area. He chose BrightStar due to his strong belief that the BrightStar Care service model, with RN nurse oversight and the highest quality and accreditation standards for both care and employment, was superior to that of any home care provider operating in Houston at the time, and still feels that way to this day. In addition to providing the strategic vision for BrightStar, Rick is currently the CEO of Oncology Services International, a member of the Advisory Board for the Cancer Center Business Summit, and a board member for Christine’s Hope for Kids, a nonprofit organization supporting less fortunate children.
Don started with BrightStar Care in 2008 in his home town of Chicago, IL. He is very frank about the fact that he first joined BrightStar due to what he saw as a great business opportunity after his career in real estate suffered following the financial crisis. However, it didn't take long for his inspiration to change as he witnessed firsthand the positive impact BrightStar makes on families every day - both of his grandparents on his Dad's side struggled with and ultimately passed away from Alzheimer's, and one of his BrightStar offices in Illinois provided direct care for his mom, Gail, and her mom (affectionately known as Chief, his favorite, pictured here) - their care team has since become family. Don and Rick were connected through the BrightStar network in early 2009 and hit if off right away due to their mutual emphasis on family, so much so that ever since Don has helped Rick oversee The Woodlands operation, despite his ongoing responsibilities as an operating partner in 3 Chicago area branches. In addition to his roles with BrightStar, Don is also a Certified Senior Advisor.
Andi Horger, MHA, RN, BSN | Administrator and Vice President of Operations & Clinical Services
As our Administrator, Andi is responsible for overseeing the daily and clinical operations of the office. This includes supervision of our nursing staff, caregiver oversight, licensure compliance, and the recruitment and management of our clinical team, including the nurse care managers who ensure the safety and satisfaction of our clients. Most importantly, Andi works hard to ensure the quality of our care and customer service. Andi recently celebrated her 9 year anniversary with BrightStar and is looking forward to many more! Helen Caywood | Community Liaison
After graduating from the University of Texas – Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Helen quickly found herself immersed in the world of sales and marketing in Dallas, Texas. While there, her love and passion for sales quickly evolved outside the world of design. Helen successfully ran the DFW and East Texas markets as Market Director for one of the largest Marketing firms in Texas. After getting married, Helen moved back to where it all began, and where she grew up; Montgomery County. She then decided to move into the medical industry. After working for a local urgent care company as their Marketing Director, an opportunity opened for her to make the switch to BrightStar Care. Since 2013, Helen has had the pleasure of being the local Community Liaison. Her favorite part of the job, is that, not one day is the same as the last. Between meeting with potential clients and their caring families, to her referral sources daily, and attending fun marketing events, there is always something new happening! “Passion for helping people, and drive to make them happy, have always fueled what I do daily here at BrightStar!”

Bobbie Thomas joins BrightStar with over 20 years of healthcare experience.Her management and human resources experience allows her to provide direction and support to our staff, clients, and their families. Her passion is helping those who deal with health issues that affect our communities and individuals quality of life. She cares for our clients as she cares for her own parents.

Brooke brings to the Brightstar team, several years of Administrative experience in the Healthcare industry with a particular passion for Home Health & Hospice. She thrives off of customer satisfaction & brings a voice of comfort to the clients’, as well as their family members. She is compassionate & enjoys assisting families in getting the quality help that they deserve.
