Meet our Stroudsburg & Allentown 2015 Nurse of the Year Nominee

April 29, 2015
Every day, a growing number of dedicated nurses care for aging adults and people with complex medical needs inside their homes, administering daily medications, providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness, and managing personalized plans of care. To pay tribute to the specialized and tireless work of thousands of nurses throughout the network, BrightStar Care launched a national Nurse of the Year program to recognize the nurses who are working hard to deliver A Higher Standard of Home Care each and every day. This year, our Registered Nurse, Lorraine Lesinsky was nominated. Here is the nomination letter about Lorraine: It is my pleasure to nominate Lorraine Lescinsky for “Nurse of the year Award”.   I have been supervising Lorraine for 5 years and found her an extremely dedicated nursing professional. Apart from being an absolute joy to work with, her work is detail-oriented and meticulous as she enjoys taking challenges. Lorraine possesses a profound expertise in a clinical setting; able to handle a high volume of work which is eminent in Home Health. She is well organized and is fully capable of providing direct patient care treatments on a multitude of diseases. Lorraine enjoys working with clients and their families.  Over the years that she has worked with us, she demonstrated excellent knowledge and competence in advanced practice nursing and has on a number of occasions collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth working and continuity of care with her client’s. Lorraine is well equipped to take charge in a home care setting. Her compassionate nature, strong attention to detail and excellent patient care skills have been very beneficial to BrightStar Care. Lorraine never says “no” and always puts the customer first.  She goes out of her way to accommodate our customer and will travel out over an hour to service our clients. Lorraine also acts as a preceptor for our aides and nurses helping to establish competency of our staff.  She is a CPR instructor who certifies our employees.  In my absence, Lorraine has been available to the office to respond if needed. Lorraine is truly a “Brightstar” in our office.
