How long have you been a Nurse?
I have been a nurse for a total of 38 years with 27 years as a Registered Nurse. I graduated in 1988 from Otero Junior College with an Associate Degree.
What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care®?
I have extensive experience in wound care starting in 1971 as a Nurse Aide doing wound care, which at the time included debriding of wounds. I have been a Health Coordinator for the migrant programs in the South Eastern area of Colorado. Working in the Head Start programs also doing Home Visits translating Care Plans and Orders in Spanish for the families we served. I have been a Charge Nurse Supervisor and Assistant Director of Nursing. I have worked in LTC facilities, hospitals, Acute Care Facilities working with ventilators, Home Care, Health Department, and WIC Program.
What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
I am very passionate about my clients and their families. The quality of care we provide is the most important thing. Ensuring that our clients receive the best of care by our team of trained staff, and also making a promise that we will make every effort to deliver quality care.

Valuing them as Individuals. I take time to get to know my clients and their families and understand what is important to them. I demonstrate to them that I care for them. A hug is my way of letting them know that I care for them.
