If you have a craving for something, actually ANYTHING, then March is the month for you. March has become much more than just the start of spring, at least from a marketing standpoint, it is literally the month of “National EVERYTHING day”. For every day in March you will find a food that is highlighted, celebrate and marketed across the nation.
I take a more simplistic approach to the month. What I like to celebrate and focus on in March is Spring. Spring because it is the beginning of the planting season when many start planning out their gardens and planting the seedlings. When soil is turned and the craftmanship is tested. For professionals and weekend worriers alike, this becomes the month to show off our passion. The harvests from our gardens and the fruits of our labor will grace our dishes and dining room tables for the days to come.
Any time we can use fresh home grown produce to incorporate into our lives, meals and dishes is worthy of celebration. It does not need to be marketed to enjoy, it merely needs to be tasted.
