Special Awards Created and Given By A BrightStar Client to Recognize his Nurse and Caregiver

A Special BrightStar Care East Bay' Client has Generously Created Two Awards for his Spectacular Care Providers

We received special recognition from one of our East Bay clients describing the care and compassion he receives on a consistent basis from his BrightStar caregiver, Yodit and BrightStar wound care nurse, Sonja.

Our client says he measures his caregivers and nurses based on the 3 Cs: Competence, Compassion, and Communication. “Sonja: Good Listener Award! Sonja communicates well with her clients, she does not interrupt! Sonja has the art of listening! She is an active listener, repeats back in her own words what the client has said to ensure accurate understanding. Sonja has the knowledge to provide excellent wound care and asks "how am I doing?” She has empathy toward her clients. An example is when Sonja knew her client was in pain and she gently placed her hand on his shoulder to comfort him.” “Yodit: Genuine Compassionate Person Award! Yodit is genuinely concerned about her clients well-being. Enthusiastic! She has a positive attitude. Yodit stood by her client’s side, comforting him, during an anxiety attack when he was having difficulty breathing. Yodit is humble, recognizes her own weaknesses and strives to improve. Yodit has a special way of communicating with her clients. She intentionally positions herself lower than the client, rather than towering over them, to show respect and that she is listening.” Thank you to Sonja and Yodit for providing excellent care to our client.
