My path to nursing started many years ago as an infant when I would attend classes with my mom as she finished her nursing degree. I sat in my car seat and she rocked me with her foot and took notes. When we moved to Florida, I helped my mom study to pass her NCLEX and could identify cardiac arrhythmias at 8 years old. At 23, I completed my own nursing program and started caring for patients. 12 years ago, I accomplished my dream of achieving my Masters in Nursing Education and becoming a nursing instructor. It has been a long and winding road to get where I am now in my nursing career and I have loved every part of it. Nursing was my first love and I am blessed to be able to share my gift for caring with others and their families. Today, I honor all the nurses who walked before me, beside me, and will carry the mantle of nursing long after I am gone. Happy nurses week!
