COVID Boosters and The Omicron Variant

What's Next With COVID?

Will Colorado Seniors Need a 2nd Booster Shot to Protect Against COVID-19?

The New York Post reports that Israel started offering a second booster shot of the Pfizer vaccine to people over 60 earlier this month as the Omicron variant raged there.

During the COVID Pandemic, Older Americans have perished in record numbers: Out of the 800,000 who have perished so far, roughly 600,000 have been 65 or older.

"As the coronavirus pandemic approaches the end of a second year, and the United States surpasses 800,000 deaths from the virus, there is no group that has suffered more than seniors. The elderly are more vulnerable to COVID, but the scale of loss is only now coming into full view.

Seventy-five percent of the people who have died from the virus in the United States have been 65 or older. One in 100 older Americans has passed from the virus. For people younger than 65, that ratio is closer to 1 in 1,400.

The heightened risk for older people has dominated life for many, partly as friends and family try to protect them. While the US considers a second booster shot, we want you to know how we are helping keep seniors safe at home during the pandemic.
