Happy Nurses Week to all the amazing women and men I know who devote themselves to caring for others. At BrightStar Care we are celebrating the stories of some of our nurses and today, it’s me!

Like several of our other nurses, I was led to this career by watching the difference that my mom was making as a nurse and later on, as a leader. As a child, I spent many days at our local hospital playing in my mom’s office while she worked. In high school, I became a CNA, and from that moment on, I knew that I’d be a nurse. I graduated as an RN in 2017 and with a new baby and new role, I jumped into this journey of nursing. I began my career in orthopedics where I was surrounded by incredible nurse mentors. I later switched to dialysis nursing where I continued to grow my skills and grow as an individual.

After years of caring for those on dialysis, I decided to become a nurse leader and be there for care staff like those who cared for me early on in my career. I have been at BrightStar Care for over five years and although I don’t do bedside care everyday, I love the difference that I can make by supporting CNA’s and nurses. It is my goal to ensure every staff member at BrightStar Care feels valued and appreciated so they can provide the best care for our clients.

Side note for Mother’s Day, one of the pictures below was when my mom received her masters in nursing. I am so thankful for support she has given me over the years to be the best nurse and leader that I can be.
