Home Health Care Makes Life Easier During COVID-19

July 15, 2020

Seniors are safer when they don't have to leave the house to see the doctor or receive medical care.

The efforts to slow the spread of the Coronavirus, and not overwhelm Boulder's health care system, have led many Colorado families to embrace telemedicine and home healthcare. The popularity of telemedicine and home health leads to growth for Boulder-area home healthcare businesses, including BrightStar Care.

"Around 76% of U.S. hospitals utilize remote technologies to communicate with patients and health care professionals, according to a 2020 to 2026 forecast of the telemedicine market by Arizton Advisory & Intelligence that was released in April. The study forecasts that the industry will experience an 80% growth in 2020 compared to last year."

According to the health department, Boulder County is now "seeing an uptick in coronavirus cases this week following the previous "steady plateau" of new cases."

According to Boulder County Public Health, more new cases were reported, with twice the prior average of 12 to 13 cases per day, and recent deaths are impacting seniors.

It is essential to keep informed about Boulder County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 or are likely positive (Probable*) for COVID-19. The count has compiled information from Boulder County Public Health from disease investigations conducted with those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the county, combined with reports from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, local hospitals, and the Boulder County Coroner. With the total number of cases in the county over 1,572, it is time to continue using best practices to prevent the spread. Staying home is still the safest place to be during the pandemic.
