As Independence Day approaches, we wanted to share some of the local 4th of July events happening around Gloucester County that are perfect for seniors, families, and veterans alike.

At BrightStar Care of Gloucester County, we know how important it is to stay connected to the community, especially during the holidays. Here are a few local events to consider:

Deptford Township Fireworks Festival

Date: Wednesday, July 3 | Time: 6:00 PM (Fireworks at dusk)
Location: Deptford High School, 575 Fox Run Road

A festive evening with live music and food trucks. A great early option with easier parking and lighter crowds.

Washington Township Parade & Fireworks

Date: Thursday, July 4 | Time: Parade at 6:30 PM, Fireworks at dusk
Location: Ganttown Road to Washington Lake Park

A full evening of celebration with one of the county’s biggest fireworks displays. Shuttle services and accessible parking are often available.

Veterans Picnic at James Atkinson Park

Date: Saturday, July 6 | Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: James Atkinson Park, Sewell

A quieter, community-oriented event to honor our veterans with live music, light lunch, and a flag ceremony.

Helpful Tips for Celebrating with Seniors:

  • Attend morning or evening events to avoid the heat
  • Bring sunscreen, water, and comfortable seating
  • Choose venues with accessible restrooms and parking
  • Plan ahead for medications or mobility needs

No matter how you celebrate, we wish you a safe and meaningful holiday.

If your loved one could use support before, during, or after the holiday weekend, our team is always just a call away.
