Traveling with seniors can be challenging, but with a little extra planning, you can make sure your family vacations go smoothly. Here are three steps you can take to assure that everyone, of all ages, enjoys vacation:

  1. Plan ahead: Make sure to research your destination ahead of time and plan accordingly. Check if there are any accessibility concerns, like stairs or steep inclines, and make sure the senior you are traveling with can comfortably navigate the area.
  2. Consider mobility needs: If the senior you are traveling with has mobility issues, consider renting a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Many tourist attractions offer these rentals for a small fee, so make sure to research your options ahead of time.
  3. Make accommodations: When booking accommodations, make sure to request a room that is accessible and has any necessary amenities, like grab bars in the bathroom. You can also request a room on the ground floor to avoid stairs or elevators.
