BrightStar Care of Las Vegas Celebrates National Nurses Week - Las Vegas Nurse Recognition

Thank You to Our Las Vegas Director of Nursing

Nurses aren’t angels, but they may be the closest thing we have in the workplace.

For 12 of past 13 years, nurses have topped the Gallup Poll of the most trustworthy professionals. Patients and their families know why.
While doctors diagnose illnesses and prescribe medication, surgery or other treatment, it’s often nurses who explain medical procedures, help manage symptoms, respond to emergencies, listen to family concerns, allay patient fears, soothe worries and find ways to make difficult situations bearable.

A nurse’s mission is not only to save lives, but to promote and preserve quality of life.

We are very grateful to have an exceptionally compassionate Director of Nursing at BrightStar Care of Las Vegas and want to recognize her during National Nurses Week for all her contribution and commitment to providing our clients with a higher standard of care.

Meet Kate Cornella, Director of Nursing

Kate has been a nurse for 17 years.  She moved to Las Vegas from Colorado with her husband and 7 children in February of 2013. She has many years of experience in acute and post-acute settings as both a primary RN and as a nurse leader.

Kate's background is primarily working in a medical/surgical hospital setting on the neuro, orthopedic and floors as an RN and a Charge Nurse/Clinical Supervisor. In the hospital setting, she was responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of patient care between physicians, patients and families, as well as providing service recovery. Kate also has several years of home health experience, both as a case manager providing hands on care and as the Director of Nursing for an accredited Medicare agency in Las Vegas.

Kate's passion for nurse leadership and the delivery of quality patient care has driven her success. She has worked extensively as a nurse preceptor, training and mentoring new graduate nurses and guiding them in developing their nursing practice as fierce and passionate patient advocates, striving to accept only excellence in the delivery of care.

Kate's love for people drives her. She strives to be a servant leader and make myself available 24/7 to my patients and to her employees as a resource, an advocate, and a friend. Kate believes in caring for all patients with the same high standard as she would expect for her own family and friends. Kate is thrilled to be working at BrightStar and uphold the company’s Standard of Excellence.
