Ahead of Veterans Day, our BrightStar Care North Hills / Pittsburgh team was honored to take part in the veteran’s breakfast at Ridgecrest in McCandless. We were thrilled to see such a large turnout of veterans, families and neighbors coming together to say thank you. Thank you to Ridgecrest for hosting, and most of all, thank you to every veteran who served.

Did you know VA benefits may help pay for care at home?

Many veterans and their families don't realize they may qualify for help paying for in-home care. Options can include:

  • Aid and Attendance: an added monthly amount on top of a VA pension for eligible wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily activities like bathing, dressing or eating
  • VA health care programs: some veterans enrolled in VA health care may qualify for home care services

Eligibility depends on service history, income and care needs. The Allegheny County Department of Veterans Services can help families apply.
